Friends, The upcoming May 28, Leticia Rigatti will be giving an online presentation about Sustainable Settlements (EcoVillages and EcoProjects) in Latin America. In the talk, Leti will share a general vision of tendencies and insights that we have observed during our 4 years on the road visiting over 100 projects in 12 countries throughout Latin America. The talk will be at the following times: 14.00 to 15.30 Peru, Colombia y Mexico 15.00 to 16.30 Chile 16.00 to 17.30 Brasil, Argentina y Uruguay The talk is organized by the Gaia University Latina, with support of the CASA network (Council of Sustainable Settlements of the Americas). Friends! What's up? We are super happy with our successful campaign, and now preparing, organizing, working through a long list of things that have been stuck on our to-do list for the last few weeks. Comun Tierra in the News!

What's up friends? We are well... we write from "El Palmarcito", a small beach on the coast of El Salvador, where we are parked in a small hotel, hosted by a Ivan, an instant friend who gives us fresh coconuts in the morning. We arrived in El Salvador just a few days ago, and are adapting to a new reality, something constant in the travelers' life. El Salvador is a small country (the smallest of  Central America) and also the most densely populated, with a tropical climate. We are here in the rainy season, which means the environment here is green and abundant, contrasting with the grittiness of San Salvador, the capital. We'll ...

Común Tierra on the Radio!

We are excited to announce a partnership with the Porto Alegre area radio program Sintonia da Terra (roughly translated: Rhythm of the Land). The show is produced in partnership between the Center for Eco-journalism and the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (Brasil), and explores themes related to sustainability, hosted by Danielle Sibonis and Raíssa Genro. Beginning in May with our official departure on this journey, we will be reporting regularly to the program with updates and stories of what we learn on the trip. We are excited to have this direct correspondence, a chance to co-design content and share our work: those in the Porto Alegre area can tune in ...

Great news! After the announcement of the Común Tierra project last week, we have already received some attention in the press! Be sure to check out the story published in Zero Hora (a popular Brazilian Newspaper) on Monday, 03/15/10. On page 2 of the section Nosso Mundo Sustentavel (Our Sustainable World), an article shares some details of the project and features a section about our visit to IPEC (Cerrado Ecocenter), which we blogged about a few weeks ago.
