Bolivia is for many a legendary place. The incredible peaks of the Andes alongside the Altiplano (high plains), that in a short distance swoops down to hot tropical jungle climates makes for a beautiful, albeit intense, environment and climate. The country is also majority Indigenous, between 60 and 70 percent (the largest populations being Quechua and Aymara), one of most Indigenous populations in all of the Americas. Powerful Mount Illimani greeted us on our first day in Bolivia Even with globalization slowly arriving, Bolivia maintains many of its traditions, and parts of the country feel like you could have traveled back in time.
