Friends and Family of the world! We have landed and are getting (re)settled in Latin America, after nearly four months on tour visiting projects and sustainable communities in Europe. It was an amazing experience in which we shared a lot, and now we are happy to be back in our mobile home Minhoca working in our Abya Yala, en route to southern Argentina. They were many highlights of the Común Tierra Europe Tour, including participation in the 2014 GEN Conference, a Dragon Dreaming intensive workshop, participation in the Ecovillage Design Course in Damanhur (Italy), the annual gathering of the Iberian Ecovillage Network and the EcoVillage Incubator workshop, plus the New Story Summit in ...

The New Story Summit in Findhorn EcoVillage

Posted on October, 19 2014

We were fortunate enough to be able to attend the New Story Summit in Findhorn, Scotland, from Sept. 27 to Oct. 3. And we are especially grateful to the Findhorn community and the other New Story Summit supporters, as their invitation and financial support for our participation in the Summit inspired us to make the Común Tierra Europe Tour happen!  The New Story Summit brought together many activists and artists who are living a New Story, and helping to bring a New Story into the world. The week long Summit had some structured days of talks, panels and discussions, and other days in which participants filled in the Open Space with our own offerings, ...

EcoVillage Design Education in Damanhur, Italy!

Posted on September, 26 2014

We are extremely grateful for the opportunity to have participated in the 2014 EcoVillage Design Education course (EDE) in Damanhur this past August. THE FOUR DIMENSIONS OF GAIA EDUCATION The EDE was created by Gaia Education, who brought together many community activists from around the world to cooperate in building the curriculum. The EDE follows a learning structure guided by the Four Dimensions of Sustainability, Ecological, Economic, Social, and Cultural (Worldview). The graphic below gives some of the main subtopics covered in each dimension: The EDE spends approximately one ...

The 2014 GEN Europe Conference!

Posted on July, 20 2014

From July 9 to 13, Común Tierra participated in the European EcoVillage Network Conference, a strong and beautiful gathering that brought together 415 people from 37 countries, and showed us again the strength of this global movement we are a part of.  GEN Europe was founded in 1994, and with the growth of GEN International in the last years, the annual conference has become very global. But this year, organizers decided to focus mainly on the European Network, with a special focus on Eastern Europe and the Middle East as well. The intention was to really strengthen the ties between the different European networks to keep growing together. And the GEN Europe ...
