Argentina: Another day on the Road

Posted on November, 19 2014 by Leticia Rigatti

Another day on the Road: We arrived to the Pampa. The road was quiet, 6.5 hours.  We bought a box of strawberries from a farmer on the side of the road that will take three days to process and we'll have jam all summer. I need some horsetail (the herb) and we are watching along the road to collect on the way.  We slept in Minhoca in a gas station parking lot, and now I'm working hidden among trucks that manuveur in the lot and some dogs barking at the night. Here in my idiosyncrasy, co-designing a thousand different projects to co-create ...

Posted on May, 22 2014 by Leticia Rigatti

AHO FAMILY!

We're here to share some news from life on the road: we crossed the border from Chile to Argentina! After 3.5 months in Chile, we are back in Argentina! On the way we passed over 4200 meters of altitude (13,800 feet) on a curvy highway known to locals as 'Los Caracoles' (the snails) ... The English translation doesn't really make sense, so just check out this picture below:

We took this photo from the ...

Visiting Valparaiso, the Colorful Coastal Chilean City

Posted on February, 28 2014 by Ryan

Greetings from Chile!! We are getting to know the country, which we had always eyed on the map as being so far away, and now we are here! So far we have found really nice people here and a lot of interesting activities happening!

We spent a couple days in Valparaiso, a port city known for it's painted streets and murals...

In Valparaiso we visited the EcoViva organic market, ...

A day in the life of Común Tierra!

Posted on October, 28 2013 by Letícia Rigatti

One thing that makes me happy living a nomadic ecological lifestyle is ... diversity! The freedom to do different things all the time, practice different skills with different people, learn new things and learning to be flexible. So many lessons on ecology, so much connection with the Earth ... These were my thoughts when I decided to upload some photos of a day in the of Común Tierra!

Today we are leaving a sweet project called Granjardín, where Jorge, Claudia and their friends have been practicing permaculture for over 20 years. We're finally leaving after spending a ...

A Soundtrack of crickets and tropical pajaritos

Posted on September, 01 2013 by Ryan

After sleeping in the madness of downtown Santa Cruz de la Sierra, it's a wonderful relief to relax listening to the crickets and a variety of birds, including toucans, parrots, and more. We are camped here at the Biocentro Guembe, just outside of the city... so close, yet so far ... Aaaaaaaahhhh ....

We are back in Minhoca after a visit to Brazil ... returning to Bolivia just in time to leave the country, since our vehicle permit (let's say Minhoca's visa) expires this week. There are still regions of Bolivia we would like to visit, ...

The Joy of Organic Markets

Posted on April, 25 2013 by Letícia Rigatti

One of the most fun parts of our trip for me are when we take our Común Tierra materials and seeds to the organic markets (or even when we are just visiting to buy organic produce, always a treat!). It's such a joy to be in the company of the organic farmers and producers who are deeply connected to the Earth, who labor with love (and without poisons!), who are committed to their work and know their own value ... I usually say that an organic farmer has in his/her heart a tranquility that few have ... it's ...

Común Tierra events and more!

Posted on March, 21 2013 by Leticia Rigatti

Hello Earth Family!

Happy Solstice! I'm writing from Mallasa, just south of La Paz, watching the sunset reflected in the beautiful Andes mountains ...

In recent weeks we have taken a short break from the project visits, having more days of internalization. We are taking time to be quiet, meditate, reflect and renew our vision ... It is very important to do this from time to time, as the constantly traveling lifestyle doens't always have the space for reflection.

It's been really nice to have time to take care of ...

December is the month to be in ... the Sacred Valley!

Posted on December, 01 2012 by Letícia Rigatti

At last! After weeks in Lima repairing Minhoca, and a long journey through twisting highways up the Andes, we arrived in the Sacred Valley!

We made a 4 day stop in Nazca, another stop in the village Challhuanca (where we stayed an extra day because we bathed in the natural hot springs) and from there another full day of driving to get to Urubamba!

We are very happy to be here, in December 2012, a month of mythical events and dates, in an important region charged full of energy. We woke up today looking out the window ...
